About the party

Pianos throws its Halloween night on Saturday, October 31, at its Ludlow Street home on the Lower East Side, with doors at 10 PM New York time. The listing promises DJs spread across all three rooms of the venue, so you can move between the main bar, the upstairs space and the backroom. A costume contest is the centerpiece of the night.

What to expect

Costumes are encouraged rather than required: the spookiest outfit wins its owner a table and a bottle for themselves and four friends. Early arrivals get free candy and door giveaways while they last. My take: a good pick for a group that wants a costume competition and several rooms to wander on Halloween itself, rather than one long headliner set.

Music and lineup

The DICE description names the DJs by room: DJ RODDY J at the main bar, RHONDA ROX and DJ WAWA upstairs, and SHAQDEM with DJ DENZ THE ROOSTER in the backroom. DICE tags the night as a party, but no specific genre is stated, so the musical style is not confirmed. Set times are not listed.
