About the party

THE ZOO dedicates its Halloween-season party at OBERON in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, to Tinashe and her new album POPSTAR. TinaZhOO: a night with a popstar runs on Friday, October 16, from 10 PM until 4 AM the next morning, New York time. The whole night is a tribute to one artist, spanning her latest record and the earlier eras that built her following.

What to expect

The dress brief is to come as a pop star, and the promoter wants the crowd dancing like they are in one of her videos; this is a styling suggestion, not a stated entry requirement. A crew of ZOO hosts works the room alongside the DJs, and the energy is pitched at singing along and showing off choreography. My take: ideal for Tinashe fans, from long-time listeners to recent converts, who want a full night of her catalog with a dress-up angle.

Music and lineup

The DICE description names three DJs: LUXX NOIR LONDON, P_A_T and PORYGONK. Note that DICE's structured performer field is empty, so the lineup comes from the description text only. The music is Tinashe-focused pop: songs from POPSTAR, well-known hits such as "2 On" and "Nasty", and deeper cuts. Set times are not published.
