Friday, Oct 30 CULT: A Halloween Mini-Fest with Pretty Sweet

About the party

PLUR.NYC stages CULT, billed as a Halloween mini-fest, at Sanders Studio on Waverly Avenue in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, on Friday, October 30. The format is compact: eight acts packed into a single warehouse night from 10 PM to 2 AM the next morning. Bass-music duo Pretty Sweet headlines, with NOTDEADYET in support and a run of local DJs filling out the bill.

What to expect

Halloween is the frame here, and the listing's dress code entry points to a costume contest judged live by the night's DJs, with prizes. Whether a costume is required to get in is not stated. The promoter also notes that capacity is limited. My take: this suits people who want a heavy, bass-forward Halloween night with a dressed-up crowd rather than a long, all-night club marathon.

Music and lineup

Named in the DICE listing description: Pretty Sweet (headliner, described as coming off dubstep festivals such as Lost Lands, Bass Canyon and WAKAAN), NOTDEADYET (support, described as bringing a SoCal dubstep sound), and locals JonJen, Bassingr, NVII, reallife, BERNS and JUNTING. The promoter describes the night as bass music, with dubstep named for the two headline acts. The structured DICE lineup field is empty, so the names above come from the description only. Set times and running order are not confirmed.

Before you go

DICE lists doors at 10 PM on Friday, October 30, with the night ending at 2 AM on Saturday morning, New York time. The event is 21+; bring ID, though the specific ID types accepted are not stated. The venue address is 525 Waverly Avenue, Brooklyn. DICE marks the event as not sold at the door, so plan to buy in advance. Re-entry, bag or coat check, accessibility and the nearest subway are not confirmed. The listing also mentions a combo ticket covering this night and Let's Get Loud: Fright Friday on October 16.

Refunds

DICE: refund within 24 hours of purchase (not within 24 hours of the event), or if the event is cancelled or rescheduled
