About the party

Desert 5 Spot, at 94 Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, dresses itself up as the Vampire Saloon for Halloween weekend, and this ticket covers the Friday, October 30 edition. The evening runs from 8 PM to 2 AM the next morning, New York time. The idea is a frontier saloon with fangs: a mix of live bands, DJs, burlesque with a vampire twist and Wild West style entertainment under one roof.

What to expect

Expect a variety bill rather than a straight club night, with burlesque and go go dancers sharing the room with bands and DJs. The listing names Lilin Lassoferatu and the Buck Wild Go Go Vamps among the featured acts. A costume rule is not mentioned in the listing. My take: a good pick for people who want a themed Halloween show with western kitsch and live performers, not a long DJ marathon.

Music and lineup

The DICE listing names The Whiskey Biscuits, Chase Manhattan, DJ Whitney Fierce, Lilin Lassoferatu and the Buck Wild Go Go Vamps, and says the night mixes live music with DJs. The listing does not state a musical genre, so the style of music is not confirmed. Set times and running order are not published.
