Friday, Oct 23 Psychosis: Halloween Pt. 1 of 4 Lauren Flax +more

About the party

Dead Letter No. 9 opens Psychosis, its four-part Halloween party series, with Night One at the venue on Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The party runs on Friday, October 23, from 9 PM to 4 AM the next morning, New York time. The concept treats the night as a descent into hidden impulses and buried fears, with two rooms running simultaneously and Lauren Flax closing the main floor.

What to expect

The costume prompt is psychological: come as the obsession you cannot shake, the thing under your bed, or your inner animal. The listing pitches this as an invitation rather than an entry rule. Music runs across two spaces, CARGO and The Foyer, and the venue notes a late kitchen and a coat check. My take: right for people who like a darker, more conceptual Halloween costume brief and want a published schedule to plan around.

Music and lineup

DICE lists five DJs with set times. In CARGO: Serrian from 9 PM to 11:30 PM, Rose Kourts from 11:30 PM to 1:30 AM, then Lauren Flax from 1:30 AM to 3:30 AM. In The Foyer: Lady Harley from 9 PM to midnight, then CatLadyHi until 3 AM. The description introduces Flax as Detroit-born and Brooklyn-based, with more than twenty years across techno, electro, house and jungle. DICE tags the night with drum and bass, electro, house and techno. The listing ends at 4 AM, but the published sets finish by 3:30 AM; what happens after that is not stated.
