Friday, Oct 23 YOI TOKI [A FUTURE FUNK/VAPORWAVE HALLOWEEN]

About the party

Cheeky Entertainment brings Yoi Toki, its future funk and vaporwave party, back to New York at DROM on Avenue A in the East Village, Manhattan. This early Halloween edition takes place on Friday, October 23, from 11 PM to 3 AM the next morning, New York time. The headline draw is future funk producer MERE NOTILDE making his first appearance at a Yoi Toki party.

What to expect

A spooky-themed dance night for the future funk crowd, with costumes encouraged but explicitly not mandatory. The promoter pitches it to fans of artists like Macross 82-99, Yung Bae, Night Tempo, Moe Shop and Mikazuki BIGWAVE, and to anyone into city pop, anime and cosplay, so anime-inspired looks fit right in. My take: an easy yes for vaporwave and city pop listeners who want a Halloween night built entirely around their corner of dance music.

Music and lineup

The DICE description names MERE NOTILDE (his Yoi Toki debut) plus DJs Faith in the Glitch and GreenTeaWasted; DICE's structured performer field is empty, so the lineup comes from the description. The promoter describes the sound as future funk, with city pop, funk, disco and French house in the mix. Artists such as Macross 82-99 and Night Tempo are named as reference points for fans, not as performers. Set times are not published.
