About the party

Tarka Project celebrates its third anniversary with a Sunday day party at Public Records in Gowanus on November 8, taking over both The Atrium and The Upstairs. The Atrium is the dance floor, closed by Tarka co-founders Zara Dekho and Dynoman going back to back. Upstairs is a listening program with a cello performance, an experimental live set and an all-vinyl set.

What to expect

Two different moods in one afternoon and evening: a club floor in The Atrium and a quiet listening lounge Upstairs, where the promoter asks for full attention and silence during the live performances. My take: for people who like their dance music with some depth, and who will appreciate drifting upstairs for the listening sets.

Music and lineup

The Atrium, per the promoter's running order: Bergsonist opens, then Arini b2b JAAG (JAAG travelling from San Francisco), Bianca Maieli (from the West Coast), ZAINAB, and Zara Dekho b2b Dynoman to close. The Upstairs: Rohana on cello, Chaia with an experimental live set, then DAKU from Chicago with an all-vinyl set. The title adds '+ more'. Exact set times are not confirmed.

Before you go

Listed 4 PM to 9 PM on Sunday, 21+. Public Records says a ticket does not guarantee entry: the door can refuse guests who appear intoxicated or do not meet the dress code (the dress code itself is not spelled out in the listing). All large bags and coats must be checked, and doors close one hour before the end time. Door tickets may be available depending on capacity. The venue runs a safer space policy. Re-entry and accessibility are not confirmed.

Refunds (DICE)
DICE lists a 24-hour cooling-off window after purchase. Check the terms on your ticket.
