   Tanner Smith's is a pub a block from the 57th Street-7th Avenue station (N, Q, R, W) and one of the few late deals that runs every night of the week, from late evening to close. It covers a Negroni, an Old Fashioned, an Aperol Spritz, Pinot Noir, and drafts like Founders Solid Gold and Fiddlehead IPA. Reservations are available.

   Central Park Tavern on West 57th Street runs a late happy hour from Sunday to Thursday that starts late in the evening and lasts until close. Columbus Circle, with the 1, A, B, C and D, is three minutes away, and the bar takes reservations.

   Meller's Sports Hub & Grill on Second Avenue is an Upper East Side sports bar with one of the latest deals on our list: it starts late at night and keeps going into the small hours, Sunday through Thursday.    Bobo is a French bar and restaurant on West 10th Street that runs its happy hour only on Friday and Saturday nights, late, and only in the den. Expect martinis and wines by the glass. It takes reservations, and the 1 train at Christopher Street-Stonewall is about a minute's walk, which makes it an easy late stop in the Village.

   Soho Diner turns into a late food stop on Friday and Saturday, when its happy hour runs in the small hours. The deal is about food rather than drinks: Soho hot wings, a smash burger, black olives and other plates from the diner menu. It sits on West Broadway, a minute from the A, C and E at Canal Street, and takes reservations.

What counts as late night here

We put a bar on this page when one of its happy hour windows ends late in the evening or later, or starts after dark. That catches two different things. Most of them are regular after-work deals that simply run long and end around the time dinner wraps up. A smaller set are true reverse happy hours that open late, and those are the ones worth planning a night around. Reverse deals lean toward Sunday to Thursday, when bars have seats to fill.

Before you go

Late menus are short and often served at the bar only, so grab a stool rather than a table. Menu prices do not include New York City sales tax of 8.875 percent or the tip, and 18 to 20 percent is standard. Late deals change more often than early ones, so look at each bar's last-checked date before heading out.
