Astoria bar crawl: five happy hours at the end of the N and W
For an Astoria bar crawl, go Monday through Friday and stay close to the last stop of the N and W: Sweet Spot Sporting Lounge & Bar on 31st Street, then Burgerology Astoria, Rivercrest and The Ditty on Ditmars Boulevard, and a finish at The Bonnie on 23rd Avenue. All five run happy hour on those days, and the whole loop is under a kilometer, about ten minutes of walking.
Astoria suits a short crawl. The bars around Astoria–Ditmars Boulevard, the last stop on the N and W, sit within a few blocks of the station, so the evening goes to drinking rather than walking. This route covers five of them in a loop: one stop on 31st Street, three in a row on Ditmars Boulevard, and a finish on 23rd Avenue, about 830 meters in all.
The five happy hours overlap Monday through Friday, in the late afternoon and early evening. Sweet Spot opens its window first, so that is where you start, with a happy hour food menu to build a base. Burgerology adds sliders. Then the drinks take over: cocktails on tap at Rivercrest, classic cocktails at The Ditty, and The Bonnie, which also runs a late-night happy hour, so the last stop can turn into the rest of the night.
The cards below show live prices and today's hours for each stop. The table further down lists every happy hour within about 700 meters of the route, which helps when one bar is full and you need a swap.

The route and when it works
Go Monday through Friday. Those are the days all five stops list a happy hour, and the windows overlap from the late afternoon into the early evening. The weekend is a different story. The Ditty is the only stop with an afternoon happy hour on Saturday and Sunday, and Rice K, a few doors from The Bonnie on 23rd Avenue, lists one daily as well, so those two make a short weekend pair, with The Bonnie's late-night window to finish.
The legs are short. Sweet Spot to Burgerology is about 290 meters, four minutes east toward Ditmars Boulevard. Burgerology to Rivercrest is about 80 meters, one minute. Rivercrest to The Ditty is about 40 meters on the same stretch of the boulevard. The Ditty to The Bonnie is the longest leg, about 420 meters and five minutes, back west past the station to 23rd Avenue. The total is roughly 830 meters and ten minutes, measured in straight lines between doors, so the real walk runs a little longer.
Most of these windows close together in the early evening, so plan on about half an hour per stop and keep the middle three moving. The Bonnie is the one place where the clock matters less, since its second happy hour comes back late in the night.
Getting there on the N and W
Both lines end at Astoria–Ditmars Boulevard, and the MTA's station list marks it as the last stop, so you cannot ride past it. From Manhattan, the N and W both stop at 14 St-Union Sq, 34 St-Herald Sq, Times Sq-42 St, 57 St-7 Av and Lexington Av/59 St, then cross into Queens at Queensboro Plaza and run up through Astoria on elevated tracks. The W also makes local stops in Manhattan that the N skips, such as 23 St and 8 St-NYU.
The MTA timetable says the W runs on weekdays only, while the N runs at all times. That suits this crawl, which is a weekday plan anyway, but for a weekend pair at The Ditty and Rice K, or for the ride home late at night, count on the N.
One thing to know before you go: the MTA's station data lists Astoria–Ditmars Boulevard as not accessible. If you need an elevator, use Astoria Boulevard, one stop south on the same lines, which is listed as accessible. Sweet Spot is about eight minutes on foot from there.
Food on the way
Eat at the first two stops. Sweet Spot's happy hour food runs from a grilled chicken quesadilla and a Santa Fe wrap to a crispy chicken sandwich with fries, a classic burger, fried fish tacos, boneless wings, hot dogs and nachos supreme. Burgerology follows with its sliders and a turkey burger, served at the bar.
After that, the happy hour lists are drinks only. Rivercrest and The Ditty list no food, and The Bonnie, which describes itself as a cocktails and bar food spot, lists drinks only on its happy hour. If you get hungry again later, Rice K on 23rd Avenue carries a food-deal tag and says its daily happy hour includes appetizers.
Trivia and bingo nights nearby
You can pick your day by the game. On Tuesday, finish at The Bonnie, where NYC Trivia League lists a weekly trivia night that starts after the happy hour ends. On Thursday, The Bier & Cheese Collective, a few steps from The Ditty at 35-11 Ditmars Boulevard, has weekly trivia from the same league, and SingleCut Beersmiths, about nine minutes northeast at 19-33 37th Street, runs music bingo. SingleCut has trivia on Fridays too. On Monday, The Ditty hosts music bingo every other week, so confirm with the bar first. On Sunday there is trivia at Mosaic on 24th Avenue, about five minutes west of The Bonnie.
Farther south in Astoria there are more games: trivia at Sunswick 35/35 on Wednesday, trivia on Monday and music bingo on Thursday at Oliver's Astoria on Broadway, and trivia at Bar Dalia on 31st Avenue on Sunday. Our Queens trivia page lists every game in the borough by night, and the music bingo page covers bingo across the city.
Practical tips
Only The Bonnie lists a booking link, on Resy. The other four have none, so plan on walking in. A group of two to four moves along Ditmars Boulevard far more easily than a big party, especially at Burgerology, where the happy hour is served at the bar only.
If you are coming from Manhattan, treat the ride as part of the plan and arrive early enough to catch Sweet Spot's window; the cards show today's hours. Tip as you would anywhere in the city, and our guide to tipping at NYC bars covers how much. For another night in the neighborhood, the Astoria happy hours page also covers the 30th Avenue and Broadway clusters, which have enough bars for a second crawl.

How we put this together
Stops, deals, days, addresses and booking links come from each bar's own website as recorded in our database. Happy hours were last checked on September 2, 2026 for Sweet Spot, October 15 for Burgerology Astoria, October 16 for Rivercrest and The Bonnie, and October 17 for The Ditty. Walking times are straight-line distances between each bar's map coordinates at about 80 meters a minute, so real walks run slightly longer. Subway facts come from the MTA's N and W timetables and the MTA Subway Stations dataset on data.ny.gov. Trivia and music bingo nights come from NYC Trivia League and other trivia listings, read on October 16, 2026.
