A Greenpoint bar crawl around Greenpoint Avenue

For a greenpoint bar crawl on happy hour, go Monday to Friday and walk four stops: Troost and Papacito's, next door to each other on Manhattan Avenue, then west to Panzón on Greenpoint Avenue and back east to Black Rabbit. The loop is under 900 meters, about 11 minutes on foot, and every stop is within a six-minute walk of the Greenpoint Avenue G station.

Greenpoint is small and walkable, and its happy hours sit in two clusters: one around the Greenpoint Avenue G stop and one down on Nassau Avenue by McCarren Park. Of the 12 Greenpoint bars on our list, four line up neatly near the northern stop, with windows that run on the same weekdays and hand off from one to the next. That is this crawl.

It is a short one. Four stops, under a kilometer of walking, and a mix that goes from a cocktail and wine bar to two-for-one frozen margaritas, a Mexican kitchen with tacos and adobo fries, and a house lager to finish. We kept the route inside Greenpoint, so there is no need to cross into Williamsburg.

Live prices and each bar's exact hours are on the cards below. Use this guide for the order, the days and the walking, and check the cards on the day you go.

    Daily 4pm–6pm · 1011 Manhattan Avenue · Greenpoint Avenue (G)

Start at Troost, a bar at 1011 Manhattan Avenue. Its happy hour runs every day and ends earliest of the four, in the early evening, so it has to come first. The deal is money off beer, cocktails and house wine by the glass or quartino, plus a tap Negroni at a set price. Our listing tags it for cocktails and wine. The Greenpoint Avenue G station is a three-minute walk.

Papacito's is next door at 999 Manhattan Avenue, under a minute's walk. Its afternoon happy hour runs every day, with two-for-one frozen margaritas, cans of Tecate or Modelo Especial, house margaritas, pints of sangria, a tequila shot with a Tecate, and regular or meat nachos. It also runs a weekday taco deal at lunch and another in the last hour of every night, if you come back later.

Walk about seven minutes west along Greenpoint Avenue to Panzón, a Mexican bar and restaurant at number 23. Its happy hour runs weekdays only and starts later than Troost's and Papacito's, in the late afternoon, which is why it sits third. Expect margaritas, non-alcoholic cocktails, Victoria beer, money off draft beer and wine, single tacos and adobo fries. Panzón takes bookings on Resy if your group wants a table.

    4. Black Rabbit Greenpoint

    $6 black rabbit lager
    Daily open to 8pm · 91 Greenpoint Avenue · Greenpoint Avenue (G)

Finish about four minutes back east at Black Rabbit, 91 Greenpoint Avenue. Its happy hour runs every day and lasts the longest into the evening of the four, so it is the natural last stop. The deal is simple: the bar's own Black Rabbit Lager, and our listing tags it for cheap beer. The Greenpoint Avenue G station is a three-minute walk, so the ride home is easy.

Which days the route works

Monday through Friday. Panzón runs happy hour on weekdays only, while Troost, Papacito's and Black Rabbit run every day, so any weekday covers all four stops. On Saturday and Sunday, skip Panzón and do the other three, which are all within about five minutes of each other.

The order follows the clock. Troost's window ends first, so start there in the late afternoon. Papacito's next door runs a little longer. Panzón starts its window later than the first two, so walk over once it opens, and Black Rabbit runs the latest into the evening, which makes it the place to finish. Plan on about 40 minutes per stop and one round at each, which puts the whole crawl at around three hours. The exact start and end times for every window are on the cards, and they are the thing to check before you set out.

The route, stop by stop

Troost to Papacito's is about 40 meters, a few doors along Manhattan Avenue. From Papacito's to Panzón is the longest leg, about 550 meters west toward the river along Greenpoint Avenue, roughly seven minutes. The last leg back to Black Rabbit is about 280 meters, around four minutes.

Add it up and the crawl is about 870 meters of walking, roughly 11 minutes on your feet. Our distances are straight lines between each bar's coordinates at about 80 meters a minute, so allow a minute here and there for corners and crossings.

The mix is the point. You get a Negroni or a glass of wine at Troost, frozen margaritas and nachos at Papacito's, tacos and adobo fries at Panzón, and a house lager at Black Rabbit. If you want to eat properly, Panzón is the stop to do it.

Getting there by subway

Take the G to Greenpoint Avenue. Our listings put Troost, Papacito's and Black Rabbit three minutes from the station and Panzón about six, so you start and finish at the same stop without doubling back on a long walk.

If you are coming from the south end of the neighborhood, the Nassau Avenue station on the G sits by the second cluster of happy hours, described below.

Making it longer

The Nassau Avenue side of Greenpoint, near McCarren Park, has its own weekday happy hours. Ray's on Lorimer Street runs Monday to Friday with well shots, beer, house cocktails, a burger, a martini with fries and hot wings. Raizes Churrascaria on Nassau Avenue runs a long weekday window with draft beer, well drinks and sangria by the pitcher, and Keg & Lantern, also on Nassau Avenue, has draft beer on its list. From Black Rabbit, Ray's is about 840 meters south, roughly 10 minutes on foot, but its window ends before Black Rabbit's, so the Nassau Avenue bars suit a separate weekday rather than a fifth stop.

For a longer night across the border, our Williamsburg bar crawl picks up farther south. The table below lists every happy hour within a 10-minute walk of Papacito's, closest first.

Questions

Which day should I do a Greenpoint bar crawl?

Any weekday, Monday to Friday. All four stops run happy hour on those days. On weekends Panzón has no happy hour, so do Troost, Papacito's and Black Rabbit instead.

How long does the crawl take?

About three hours with one round at each of the four stops. The walking adds up to roughly 11 minutes over about 870 meters, from the late afternoon into the evening.

Where can I eat on the route?

Panzón and Papacito's. Panzón's happy hour includes single tacos and adobo fries, and Papacito's has regular and meat nachos plus taco deals at lunch and late at night.

Do I need reservations?

No. Panzón takes bookings on Resy if you want a table for a group; the other three have no booking link in our listing, so just walk in.

Which subway station should I use?

Greenpoint Avenue on the G. Troost, Papacito's and Black Rabbit are three minutes from it and Panzón about six, so the same station works for the start and the finish.

How we put this together

We built the route from our database of New York happy hours, which records each bar's schedule and offers from the bar's own website. The four stops were last checked between October 19 and October 21, 2026. All four are in Greenpoint; the route does not extend into Williamsburg. Walking times are straight-line distances between bar coordinates at about 80 meters per minute, so real walks can run slightly longer. Subway stations and walk times come from each bar's listing.
