Free Parties in NYC

There are 23 free parties on the NYC calendar right now, and 21 are still open; the two Halloween parties, at Sleepwalk and Seventh Heaven, are sold out. Brooklyn has 12 and Manhattan 11. By neighborhood, the Lower East Side has 10, Williamsburg 9, Bushwick 3 and Nolita 1. Two venues carry most of the list: The Delancey hosts 10 reggaetonLABS nights, and Sleepwalk on Bushwick Avenue hosts 9, mostly its Wednesday vinyl happy hour.

The weekly pattern is simple. Fridays at The Delancey are Reggaeton Fridays, and Saturdays are Safaera, which adds Latin music to the reggaeton. Wednesdays at Sleepwalk are Date Nite, where Hotel Kismet puts crate diggers on vinyl with happy hour specials at the bar. Thursdays are the wild card: a goth night at Purgatory, a Nervous Records speakeasy at Shinsen and a melodic-to-hard techno night in the main room at SILO Brooklyn.

What free means here

Free on this page means no ticket price, not a guaranteed walk-in. Most of these run on a free DICE RSVP: Nervous Records says entry is by RSVP and to arrive early, and the Techno Thursday title says free with RSVP. At The Delancey, a DICE ticket guarantees entry early in the night, and the Thanksgiving weekend listings add a two-drink minimum for later entry. Free nights also fill up. Both Halloween parties here, ParaPara at Seventh Heaven and BLOODLUST at Sleepwalk, are already sold out.
