For free things to do in NYC at night this fall, the yaynyc calendar lists 21 free-entry parties between October 28 and December 16, led by Date Nite: Vinyl Happy Hour at Sleepwalk in Williamsburg every Wednesday and Reggaeton Fridays and Safaera on Saturdays at The Delancey on the Lower East Side. Start with a low-cost happy hour at Phoenix Bar in the East Village or Art Bar in the West Village, both daily, or Papacito's in Greenpoint, which adds a late taco deal in the last hour of every night.
A night out in New York does not have to start with a cover charge. Our parties calendar lists 21 upcoming free-entry nights at five venues, from a Wednesday vinyl session in Williamsburg to reggaeton on the Lower East Side until 4 AM. Two free Halloween parties are already sold out, so they are not here.

Free parties on the calendar this fall
Wednesdays are the steadiest free night. Date Nite: Vinyl Happy Hour, presented by Hotel Kismet, runs at Sleepwalk, 251 Bushwick Avenue, from 6 PM to 10 PM every week from October 28 through December 16. Fridays and Saturdays belong to reggaetonLABS at The Delancey, 168 Delancey Street. Reggaeton Fridays (/parties/reggaeton-fridays-2026-11-06) and Safaera (/parties/safaera-2026-11-07), a reggaeton and Latin night, run from 11 PM to 4 AM every weekend from November 6 to December 5. The dress code is upscale casual.
Thursdays bring one-offs. Nightbreed fills the downstairs room at Purgatory in Bushwick on October 29 from 8 PM to midnight with synth, post punk, goth and 80s, and costumes are encouraged (/parties/downstairs-nightbreed-2026-10-29). On November 5, Nervous Records sets up a speakeasy pop-up at Shinsen, 44 Bowery, from 9 PM to 1 AM with Cosmo and Mike Nervous (/parties/nervous-records-speakeasy-w-cosmo-and-mike-nervous-2026-11-05). On November 19, Techno Thursday takes SILO Brooklyn's main room from melodic techno into hard techno, led by Roman Messer and Bruce Wayne (/parties/techno-thursday-melodic2hard-main-room-event-free-w-rsvp-2026-11-19).

At The Delancey, a DICE ticket guarantees entry before midnight. The organizer says the party does not charge cover, but after midnight there is a two-drink minimum to get in, so arrive early if you want to spend nothing at the door. Bring a government-issued ID with your date of birth.
The Thursday one-offs run on RSVPs. Nervous Records at Shinsen is entry by RSVP on DICE, and the listing advises arriving early without confirming that an RSVP guarantees entry. Techno Thursday at SILO has a limited number of free RSVP tickets, the listing says tickets are also sold at the door, and the promoter advises arriving early. Date Nite and Nightbreed list no RSVP rule.
Cheap drinks near each party
For the Wednesday vinyl night, Post No Bills sits at 253 Bushwick Avenue, a few doors from Sleepwalk, with drafts and well drinks on a daily happy hour. Its menu reads messily in our data, so it is not a pick, but the address makes it an easy first round. Juke Bar and The Little Whiskey cover the Bushwick Thursdays.
For The Delancey, mind the gap: both Lower East Side picks end their happy hours in the early evening, and the parties start at 11 PM. Isla & Co. works any day, and 169 Bar only on weekends, which suits Safaera. Plan dinner in between. If you just want a cheap drink with no party, Phoenix Bar and Art Bar run their happy hours seven days a week, and the table below shows the lowest drink deal in each neighborhood.
A free night out, day by day
Monday has no free parties listed, so make it a happy hour night: Phoenix Bar, The Little Whiskey and Isla & Co. run their deals all day. Wednesday is Date Nite at Sleepwalk; the November 25 edition falls on Thanksgiving Eve. Thursday depends on the date: Nightbreed on October 29, Nervous Records on November 5, Techno Thursday on November 19. Friday and Saturday are The Delancey, arriving before midnight, with 169 Bar on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday, Art Bar, Phoenix Bar and Papacito's still run their happy hours.
