Tuesday, Nov 3 Open Decks w/ Steen & VRSNØNE

About the party

Open Decks at SILO Brooklyn is a session where DJs sign up on the spot and play house and techno through the front room system. DJ and musician Steen hosts, and VRSNØNE co-hosts this edition on Tuesday, November 3. Each slot is 12 minutes, so the booth changes hands often over the night.

What to expect

There is no headliner: the first three DJs to sign up play first, then names are drawn at random from the list through the night, with extra weight for people who got there earlier. Anyone selected gets half an hour's notice before their slot. The room's sound is a custom Danley system rated at 15,000 watts. My take: ideal for DJs who want time on a serious system, and for friends coming out to cheer them on.

Music and lineup

Hosts: Steen, with co-host VRSNØNE. Every other DJ comes from the sign-up list on the night, so the lineup is not known in advance. The promoter describes the music as house and techno.

Before you go

DICE lists 7 PM to 2 AM on Tuesday, November 3, and the event is 21+. The description asks for an advance RSVP, and the front room has limited capacity. To play, sign up in person with Steen at the event; there is no other way to sign up, and the description refers to the first sign-up happening at 8 PM. Questions can go to Steen on Instagram (@steenschmidt). Re-entry, coat check and accessibility are not confirmed.

Refunds

DICE: refund within 24 hours of purchase (not within 24 hours of the event), or if the event is cancelled or rescheduled
