For Friendsgiving NYC plans in Thanksgiving week 2026 (Thanksgiving is Thursday, November 26), book a place that takes reservations and runs a happy hour with food to share: Boqueria Spanish Tapas in Chelsea, Meraki Greek Bistro in Williamsburg, Pera SoHo, Oliver's Astoria and Mudville in Tribeca all run Monday through Friday. For the weekend after, Boqueria, Siren in Park Slope and Juniper near Penn Station keep their happy hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Friendsgiving is easier when someone else does the dishes. In New York that usually means a bar or restaurant that takes a booking, so your group has a table waiting, plus a happy hour, so the first round and a few shared plates cost less. This guide covers Thanksgiving week 2026, from the weekend of November 21 and 22 through Sunday, November 29.

We started from the 223 places on our list that take reservations online and kept the ones with a posted happy hour that covers food or drinks a group can share, each checked against the venue's own website in the past two weeks. The eight picks sit in eight different neighborhoods across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. Each card shows live prices and exact hours, and the table below lists every bookable happy hour in the city.

Our picks

    1. Boqueria Spanish Tapas Chelsea

Mini classic or dirty martini $8 · Mini espresso martini $9
    Mon–Fri 3pm–6pm · Sat, Sun 4pm–6pm · 53 W 19th St · 23rd Street (F, M)

Boqueria on West 19th Street is a Spanish tapas restaurant, and its happy hour is made for a table that shares: pan con tomate, croquetas, patatas bravas, a serrano ham grilled cheese, beef sliders and churros, plus mini martinis, a mini espresso martini and Spanish beer. It runs on weekday afternoons and again on Saturday and Sunday, so it covers the Friendsgiving weekend too. The F and M at 23rd Street are four minutes away.

Greek style ceviche $10 · Horiatiki Greek salad $10
    Mon–Fri 3pm–6pm · 252 Grand St · Bedford Avenue (L)

Meraki Greek Bistro on Grand Street turns its weekday happy hour into a meze spread: Greek-style ceviche, horiatiki and halloumi salads, a spreads platter, calamari, meatballs, spanakopita, sliders and souvlaki. Order several and pass them around. The window opens mid-afternoon Monday through Friday, which suits an early Friendsgiving on the Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday before the holiday. Bedford Avenue on the L is a six-minute walk.

    Mon–Fri 4:30pm–6:30pm · 54 Thompson Street · Spring Street (C, E)

Pera SoHo on Thompson Street is a Mediterranean restaurant with a single-price happy hour that covers mezze, signature cocktails, wines by the glass, draft beer and mocktails, so the friend who is skipping alcohol gets a deal too. It runs Monday through Friday in the late afternoon. The C and E at Spring Street are two minutes away, which makes it an easy meeting point for a group coming from all over Manhattan.

    Mon–Fri 4pm–7pm · Daily 10pm to close · 37-19 Broadway at 38th Street · Steinway Street (M, R)

Oliver's Astoria, on Broadway at 38th Street, is a neighborhood bar whose weekday afternoon happy hour leans into bar food: jumbo chicken wings, dilly chips, buffalo chicken empanadas, mozzarella sticks and truffle fries, plus signature cocktails with the option to add a house shot. It is a relaxed pick for a casual Queens Friendsgiving before everyone scatters for the holiday. Steinway Street on the M and R is three minutes away.

    Mon–Thu 4pm–8pm · Fri 3pm–8pm · Sun 4pm–2am · 380 3rd Ave · 28th Street (6)

The Factory 380 on Third Avenue in Kips Bay runs happy hour Monday through Friday and again on Sunday, with frozen cocktails, signature cocktails, select wines, drafts and bottles. The snack list works for a group: buffalo chicken dip, mozzarella sticks and a martini with truffle parm fries. The Sunday window makes it a good fit for a slow Friendsgiving on November 29. The 6 at 28th Street is a four-minute walk.

$3 off draft beers, select wines, well
    Mon–Fri 3pm–6pm · 126 Chambers St · Chambers Street (2, 3, A, C, E, R, W)

Mudville sits on Chambers Street, a minute from the Chambers Street station on the 2, 3, A, C, E, R and W. Its weekday afternoon happy hour takes money off the Share and Mingle plates along with draft beers, select wines, well drinks and specialty cocktails. That makes it the downtown choice for an after-work Friendsgiving early in Thanksgiving week, before people leave town for the holiday.

Siren on Fifth Avenue in Park Slope is a seafood restaurant with a raw bar happy hour: East Coast oysters and littleneck clams, plus a hibiscus margarita, a Bee's Knees and a South Slope gimlet. It runs Tuesday through Sunday, with an earlier window from Friday to Sunday, and the shellfish deal is for the bar and lounge only, so send a couple of people ahead. The R at 25th Street is five minutes away.

The list covers a classic margarita, The Ivy Martini, peach mango sangria, house wines, 212 Lager and Harpoon IPA, plus High Noon and Sun Cruiser cans.

Which night to pick

Thanksgiving 2026 falls on Thursday, November 26, so most Friendsgivings land on one of two stretches: Monday to Wednesday before the holiday, or Friday to Sunday after it. Early in the week is the easier booking. All eight picks run a weekday happy hour, and every one of them except Siren is on from Monday. Wednesday is also Thanksgiving Eve, a big night out in its own right, so if you want the party version of that night, read our Thanksgiving Eve NYC 2026 plan and the Thanksgiving Eve parties list. Thursday itself is a gamble: holiday hours can differ from the regular schedules on our cards, so call first.

For the weekend after: of the 223 bookable places on our list, 60 post a happy hour on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Among the picks, Boqueria, Siren and Juniper run on both Saturday and Sunday, and The Factory 380 adds Sunday. For more options, the weekend happy hours page is sorted by what is running.

How to book for a group

Book early and for the real headcount. Most of our picks take reservations through Resy or OpenTable, and Meraki uses SevenRooms. For anything past about eight people, call or use the venue's events form, because online booking tools often stop at smaller party sizes.

Ask one question when you book: does the happy hour apply at a reserved table? Some deals are for the bar area only. Siren's raw bar deal, for example, is limited to the bar and lounge. If the answer is bar only, have the first arrivals grab seats at the bar for a round of happy hour drinks and plates, then move to the table when everyone is there. Book inside the window, not at its end, and order the shareable plates first while the deal is on.

Splitting the bill without the drama

Decide how you will pay before anyone orders. The simplest plan for a big table is one card for the whole check and a payment app to settle up afterward, with the host splitting it evenly. If you want separate checks, ask when you book, not when the bill arrives, because some places will not split a large table at the end of the night.

Read the menu or ask about service charges for large parties, since some restaurants add one automatically and you do not want to tip twice. On the tip itself, our guide to how much to tip at a bar in NYC covers what locals leave, so one person can do the math for the whole table.

Parties that week

If the group wants to keep going after dinner, our calendar lists 81 published parties between Friday, November 20 and Sunday, November 29, all 21 and up, and five of them carry a Thanksgiving theme. Thanksgiving night itself has one: Groundcontrol Presents: Thanksgiving with KOFLA and Cristian Arango at Superior Ingredients in Williamsburg.

The weekend after has 28 parties. On Friday, November 27, NOSTALGIA: A Throwback Classic Night runs at Deluxx Fluxx in the East Village. On Saturday, November 28, Curiouser and Curiouser with Felix Da Housecat takes over House of Yes in Bushwick, and Suave Saturdays, a Latin-inspired sunset party, starts early at Somewhere Nowhere in Chelsea, a short ride from Boqueria. On Sunday, November 29, The Atrium with Eli Escobar and Jen Cardini starts in the afternoon at Public Records in Gowanus, not far from Siren. The full list is on our NYC parties page.

Many restaurants serve the happy hour at the bar only, even when you book a table: ask when you reserve.

Questions

When is Friendsgiving in 2026?

There is no fixed date: most groups hold Friendsgiving in the days around Thanksgiving, which is Thursday, November 26, 2026. The Monday to Wednesday before it and the weekend of November 28 and 29 are the easiest times to book a table, since many people spend Thursday with family.

Do NYC bars take reservations for big groups?

Yes, many do: 223 bars and restaurants on our list take bookings online through services such as Resy, OpenTable and SevenRooms. For groups of more than about eight, call the venue or use its events form, since online tools often cap party size.

Does happy hour apply to a reserved table?

Sometimes, so ask when you book. Some happy hours are for the bar area only, such as Siren's raw bar deal in Park Slope, which is limited to the bar and lounge. Others, like Pera SoHo's, are listed without a bar-only rule on the venue's own page.

What is the easiest way to split a Friendsgiving bill?

Put the whole check on one card and settle up afterward with a payment app. If you need separate checks, request them when you book rather than at the end of the night, and look for an automatic service charge before you add a tip.

Which of these picks have a happy hour on the weekend after Thanksgiving?

Boqueria Spanish Tapas in Chelsea, Siren in Park Slope and Juniper in Koreatown run happy hour on both Saturday and Sunday, and The Factory 380 in Kips Bay runs on Sunday. Our weekend happy hours page lists the rest.

How we put this together

We worked from the 702 bars and restaurants on our list, kept the 223 that take online reservations, and chose eight with a posted happy hour that covers food or drinks a group can share, in eight different neighborhoods. Each deal and schedule comes from the venue's own website, checked between October 16 and October 24, 2026. Party listings come from our published NYC parties for November 20 to 29, 2026. The Thanksgiving date comes from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management's federal holidays list; the page could not be fetched directly, so we confirmed it through a search restricted to opm.gov that showed the page's own text.
