Lower East Side bar crawl: five happy hours around Orchard Street

For a Lower East Side bar crawl, go Monday through Friday and walk five stops in this order: Hair Of The Dog and Isla & Co. on Orchard Street, Ten Bells on Broome Street, Tre on Ludlow Street, then Boho Karaoke Orchard back on Orchard. All five run a happy hour on those days, they overlap in the late afternoon, and the whole walk is about a kilometer.

The Lower East Side packs a lot of bars into a few short blocks, and Orchard Street alone has four of the happy hours on our list within a couple of minutes of each other. That makes it an easy place to string a crawl together, as long as you pick bars whose deals are on at the same time. This route does that with five stops on Orchard, Broome and Ludlow Streets, and about 13 minutes of walking in total.

The order follows the clock as much as the map. You get a sports pub, a cafe bar, a natural wine bar with oysters, a restaurant wine stop and a karaoke finish.

Each card below shows live prices and today's hours. The table under this intro lists more happy hours within a short walk, in case a stop is packed.

The route, stop by stop

  1. 1. Hair Of The Dog Lower East Side

    50% off all drinks
    Mon–Fri 12pm–7pm · 168 Orchard Street · 2nd Avenue (F)

Start at Hair Of The Dog, a sports pub at 168 Orchard Street. Its weekday happy hour begins at midday, earlier than anything else on this route, and takes a discount off all drinks, with a slider deal alongside; the bar notes that exclusions apply. Order a slider here, since only one other stop lists food. The F at 2nd Avenue is three minutes away, and no booking link is listed, so walk in.

Deal checked Oct 16, 2026 on the bar's own site.

    2. Isla & Co. Lower East Side Lower East Side

    Select Cocktails $10 · Select Wines $10
    Daily 4pm–6pm · Mon all day · 139 Orchard St · Delancey Street (F, J, M, Z)

Walk two minutes south on Orchard to Isla & Co., a cafe and bar at 139 Orchard Street that takes its cue from Australian coffee culture. The happy hour runs every day and covers select cocktails, wines and beers. It has the shortest window of the five and ends first, which is why it comes second. Resy takes bookings, and Delancey Street station on the F, J, M and Z is three minutes away.

    3. Ten Bells Lower East Side

    $20 carafe of wine 50cl
    Daily open to 7pm · 247 Broome Street · Delancey Street (F, J, M, Z)

Ten Bells, a natural wine bar at 247 Broome Street, is about three minutes south of Isla & Co. Its happy hour starts when the doors open, every day of the week, and on weekdays that is late in the afternoon. The deal is oysters and a carafe of wine, so this is the seafood stop and a good place to share a carafe. Resy takes reservations, and Delancey Street station is two minutes away.

Deal checked Oct 17, 2026 on the bar's own site.

  4. 6 min walk from Ten Bells

    4. Tre Lower East Side

$9 white wine, red wine, champagne
    Mon–Fri 5pm–7pm · Sat, Sun 2pm–7pm · 173 Ludlow Street · 2nd Avenue (F)

Head about six minutes north up Ludlow Street to Tre, a restaurant at 173 Ludlow. Its happy hour pours white wine, red wine, Champagne and Aperol, and it runs Monday through Friday in the early evening, with a longer window on weekends. On Thursdays the happy hour is served at the bar only, so take a seat there. The F at 2nd Avenue is three minutes away.

Deal checked Oct 17, 2026 on the bar's own site.

  5. 2 min walk from Tre

    5. Boho Karaoke Orchard Lower East Side

    Shot $4.50 · Draft Beer $5.50
    Daily open to 9pm · 152 Orchard St · Delancey Street (F, J, M, Z)

Finish at Boho Karaoke Orchard, 152 Orchard Street, two minutes back toward Delancey. Its happy hour runs every day from opening and stays on far longer than any other stop here. The list covers shots of lemon drop, kamikaze, sake or soju, plus draft beer, wine, cocktails and sake or soju bombs. Private karaoke rooms are available, so a group can end the night singing. Delancey Street station is three minutes away.

When the route works

Go Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Those are the days all five happy hours run. All five are on together for a stretch in the late afternoon, and that shared window is your crawl.

Timing matters most at the start. Hair Of The Dog starts earliest. Isla & Co. ends first, and Ten Bells only opens in the late afternoon on weekdays, so reach Isla & Co. early in its window and move to Ten Bells as it opens. Ten Bells and Tre end at the same moment, so keep stops three and four to about half an hour each. Then the pressure is off: Boho Karaoke Orchard keeps its deal going into the evening.

On a Saturday, Hair Of The Dog drops out because its happy hour is weekdays only. A four-stop version still works: start at Tre, which has a longer weekend window, then Isla & Co., then Ten Bells, which opens earlier on Saturdays, and finish at Boho Karaoke Orchard. Ten Bells to Boho is about 330 meters, roughly four minutes.

The walk, leg by leg

Leg one, Hair Of The Dog to Isla & Co.: about 170 meters, two minutes, south on Orchard Street. Leg two, Isla & Co. to Ten Bells: about 235 meters, three minutes, continuing south on Orchard past Delancey Street to Broome Street. Leg three, Ten Bells to Tre: about 475 meters, six minutes, north up Ludlow Street. This is the longest walk of the night and a good moment to drink some water. Leg four, Tre to Boho Karaoke Orchard: about 150 meters, two minutes, one block over to Orchard Street.

That adds up to roughly 1,025 meters and 13 minutes on foot. These are straight lines between map coordinates, so the street grid adds a little.

If a stop is full, Mary's and Gugu Room are about a minute from Isla & Co., and Sally Can Wait is across Broome Street from Ten Bells. Their days differ, so check the table first, or see all Lower East Side happy hours.

Getting there, getting home and what to bring

Arrive on the F at 2nd Avenue, three minutes from Hair Of The Dog. Tre is three minutes from the same station if you join late. The rest of the route sits near Delancey Street station on the F, J, M and Z: Ten Bells is two minutes away, and Isla & Co. and Boho Karaoke Orchard are three, so the last stop leaves you close to four lines home.

Bring ID. You must be 21 to be served in New York, and the State Liquor Authority holds the bar responsible even if a guest looked older. The ID it lists as acceptable is a valid driver's license from any U.S. state or Canada, a New York non-driver ID card, U.S. military ID, or a valid passport. College IDs do not count as the main proof of age. Visitors from outside the U.S. and Canada should carry a passport.

Plan on tax and tip on top of the happy hour prices. NYC Tourism notes that listed prices usually do not include sales tax and that bartenders typically expect a tip for every drink they serve. Our guide on how much to tip at a bar in NYC covers how to tip on discounted drinks.

Food on the way

Only two stops list food in their happy hour, and both come early: the slider deal at Hair Of The Dog and oysters at Ten Bells. Eat at both. Isla & Co., Tre and Boho Karaoke Orchard list drinks only, so the second half of the night runs on what you ate in the first.

For a sit-down meal, Ten Bells and Isla & Co. both take reservations through Resy. Our oyster happy hours page lists more places pairing oysters with a drink deal.

After the crawl: trivia and parties

On a Tuesday, you can loop back to the start. Hair Of The Dog hosts a weekly trivia night on Tuesday evenings, run by NYC Trivia League, and it begins after the happy hour ends. On Thursdays, NYC Trivia League also runs trivia at Sadie's Ward, 121 Essex Street, about a minute from Isla & Co. See Tuesday trivia in NYC or trivia in Manhattan for the rest of the week.

On a Friday, the night can keep going on the same blocks. Reggaeton Fridays by reggaetonLABS is on October 23 at The Delancey, 168 Delancey Street, with an upscale casual dress code. For Halloween, DO NOT DISTURB at Hotel Chantelle fills three floors at 92 Ludlow Street on Friday, October 30, and on Saturday, October 31, Halloween at Pianos at 158 Ludlow Street, steps from Tre, has DJs in three rooms and a costume contest. All three are 21 and over. Browse Halloween parties or the full NYC parties list for more.

How we put this together

Stops, deals, days, addresses, booking links and subway walking times come from each bar's own website as recorded in our database, with happy hours last checked between September 2 and October 17, 2026. On October 17, 2026 we also read the websites of Hair Of The Dog, Isla & Co., Ten Bells, Tre and Boho Karaoke Orchard for opening hours and day patterns. Walking times are straight-line distances between each bar's map coordinates at about 80 meters a minute. Trivia nights come from NYC Trivia League's schedule as observed October 16, 2026. Parties come from our published party listings. ID rules come from the New York State Liquor Authority and the tax and tipping notes from NYC Tourism.
