A West Village bar crawl built on overlapping happy hours
For a west village bar crawl that stays on happy hour the whole way, go on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday and walk five stops: Cafe Luna on Hudson Street, The Mary Lane on Bank Street, Hudson Hound, Left Bank on Perry Street and Rockbar on Christopher Street. No leg is longer than about five minutes on foot, and the happy hour windows hand off from one bar to the next in that order.
Most bar crawls fall apart at the third stop, when the deals end and the prices jump. This one is built the other way around. We started from the happy hour schedules each bar publishes, kept only the stops whose windows land on the same days, and then put them in an order where the earliest window comes first and the latest comes last.
The result is a short loop through the blocks around Hudson Street, Bank Street, Perry Street and Christopher Street. Five bars, under a kilometer of walking in total, and a mix that goes from beer, wine and cocktails at a Hudson Street cafe to a spritz on a patio, a bucket of beer, a dinner-style food deal and a two-for-one to finish.
The live prices sit on each pick card below, with each bar's current hours. Use this guide for the order, the days and the walking, and check the cards on the day you go.

Beer $6 · Wine $8
Daily 3pm–5pm · 628 Hudson St · 8th Avenue (A, C, E, L)Start at Cafe Luna, an all-day cafe and bar at 628 Hudson Street. Its happy hour is listed every day of the week, and its window opens and closes earliest of the five, so this is your afternoon stop. The deal is simple: beer, wine and cocktails at happy hour prices. On several days the cafe closes when happy hour ends, so do not plan to linger. The 8th Avenue station on the A, C, E and L is four minutes away.

Its weekday happy hour starts later than the first three stops, in the early evening, and the menu pairs food with drinks: any two apps, a burger with a draught beer, or pasta with a glass of wine. It also runs a weekend window, one of two stops on this route that do, along with Cafe Luna.

2-for-1
Mon–Fri 5pm–7pm · 185 Christopher St · Christopher Street–Stonewall Station (1)Finish about five minutes west at Rockbar, 185 Christopher Street. Its weekday happy hour shares Left Bank's early evening timing and is a two-for-one on beer, well and call liquor, the simplest deal of the night. The bar sits toward the western end of Christopher Street, a seven-minute walk from the Christopher Street-Stonewall station on the 1 train.

How to time it
Tuesday through Friday is the only stretch of the week when all five happy hours run. On Mondays, The Mary Lane and Hudson Hound have no happy hour, which breaks the middle of the route. On Saturdays and Sundays only Cafe Luna and Left Bank keep a window, so the crawl does not work on a weekend.
The order follows the clock. Cafe Luna has the earliest window of the five and it closes first, so begin there in the afternoon. The Mary Lane and Hudson Hound share a late afternoon window, which is why they sit side by side in the middle. Left Bank and Rockbar start last and run into the early evening, so they close out the night. If you arrive late, skip Cafe Luna and start at The Mary Lane. If you only have an hour, do the middle three.
Plan on one round per stop and roughly half an hour at each. The Mary Lane's deal is at the bar and patio only, so head for the bar rather than waiting for a table. The exact start and end times for each window are on the pick cards above, and they are the thing to check before you set out.
The route, stop by stop
Stop one to stop two is about 210 meters south from Cafe Luna to The Mary Lane on Bank Street, or roughly three minutes. From there Hudson Hound is about 60 meters away on Hudson Street, a one-minute walk. Left Bank on Perry Street is about 130 meters further, close to two minutes. The last leg is the longest, about 360 meters to Rockbar on Christopher Street, around five minutes.
Add it up and the whole crawl is about 760 meters of walking, or about 10 minutes of total time on your feet. Our distances are measured point to point between each bar's coordinates at about 80 meters a minute, so allow an extra minute here and there for corners and crossings.
The mix is deliberate. You get beer, wine and cocktails at Cafe Luna, a spritz and wine on The Mary Lane's patio, draught beer and buckets at Hudson Hound, a food and drink pairing at Left Bank, and a two-for-one at Rockbar. If you want to eat properly, Left Bank is the stop to do it.
Getting there by subway
Start from the 8th Avenue station, which serves the A, C, E and L trains and which our listing puts four minutes from Cafe Luna.
The route ends near the 1 train. Christopher Street-Stonewall is about five minutes from Hudson Hound and Left Bank and about seven minutes from Rockbar, so you can head home from there without doubling back.
For fares, tap the same contactless card or phone at the turnstile for every ride. The MTA caps weekly subway and local bus fares when you use one card or device, and the seven-day window starts with your first tap.
If your day does not fit
On a Monday or a weekend, build a shorter version from bars with daily windows. Cafe Luna, the first stop, lists its happy hour every day. Jack & Charlie's No. 118 on Greenwich Avenue runs happy hour every day at the bar and on the patio, with oysters and a sunset menu. Osteria Nonnino on Hudson Street also runs daily, at the bar and in the outdoor area, with wine by the glass or carafe, beer, cocktails and Italian bites such as arancini and meatballs. Left Bank covers the weekend with its own Saturday and Sunday window.
For more options on the day, the table below lists every happy hour within a short walk of the first stop, closest first.

Questions
Which day should I do a West Village bar crawl?
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Those are the only days when all five stops on this route run happy hour. Monday drops The Mary Lane and Hudson Hound, and on weekends only Cafe Luna and Left Bank have a window.
How long does the crawl take?
The walking adds up to about 10 minutes over roughly 760 meters. With one round and about half an hour at each of the five bars, plan on roughly three hours, starting in the afternoon and finishing in the early evening.
Can I do this crawl on a weekend?
Not as written. On Saturday and Sunday, combine the weekend windows at Cafe Luna and Left Bank with Jack & Charlie's No. 118 and Osteria Nonnino, which both list happy hour every day.
Do I need reservations?
No. The Mary Lane's deal is at the bar and patio, so walk in and take a bar seat. Left Bank has a booking link on its card if you want a table afterward.
Which subway stations are closest to the start and end?
Begin at the 8th Avenue station (A, C, E, L), four minutes from Cafe Luna. Finish at Christopher Street-Stonewall on the 1, about seven minutes from Rockbar.
Is this crawl good for a group?
Yes, in small numbers. Hudson Hound sells beer by the bucket at happy hour, Left Bank's food pairings work for sharing, and Rockbar's two-for-one suits rounds. Bar-only deals get tight with more than four or five people.
How we put this together
We picked the stops from our database of New York happy hours, which records each bar's schedule and offers from the bar's own website. The five bars on this route were last checked on September 2, 2026. Walking times are straight-line distances between bar coordinates at about 80 meters per minute, so real walks can run slightly longer. Subway lines and station walks come from each bar's listing, and fare capping details come from the MTA.
