In short: 804 bars in NYC run a happy hour on Tuesdays, 549 with the deal spelled out. The cheapest drink we have on file: $1 at Inwood Bar & Grill. Most start at 4pm. Most are in Midtown, Williamsburg, East Village.
Tuesday is when the city's happy hour list fills back in. Most bars on our list run a deal on Tuesdays, dozens more than on Mondays, and Brooklyn picks up the biggest share of the newcomers as restaurants that close or skip Mondays come back. Williamsburg has more Tuesday deals than any other neighborhood on our list, with Times Square, the East Village and the Upper West Side close behind.
A Tuesday happy hour in NYC also comes with a tradition: Taco Tuesday. La Caverna on the Lower East Side builds its whole Tuesday deal around tacos, margaritas and tequila, and Riviera Maya in Astoria stretches its Tuesday window across most of the day. Weekday windows still dominate, opening in the afternoon and wrapping up in the early evening, so the after-work slot is the safe bet. Tip: for bars that run Tuesday to Friday, such as Monarch in Williamsburg, Tuesday is the first chance of the week.
Beer $6 · Wine $8
Wed, Thu, Sun 5pm–8pm · Fri 5pm–7pm · Tue 5pm–9pm · 122 Rivington Street
La Caverna on Rivington Street turns Tuesday into a taco night: beef, chicken or veggie tacos, margaritas, tequila shots and beers all come at a set price. Its window opens after work and runs later into the evening than most Tuesday deals on our list. Essex Street, served by the F, J, M and Z, is a two-minute walk.

Mon, Wed–Fri, Sun 12pm–7pm · Tue all day · 28-28 Steinway St
Riviera Maya is a Mexican and Latin bar on Steinway Street in Astoria whose deal text calls Tuesday an all-day happy hour; our listing shows it running from midday into the evening. Frozen and classic margaritas and beer are the main offers, and the deal text also lists sangrias and a pisco cocktail. The 30th Avenue N and W stop is about eight minutes away.

Tue–Sun 5pm–7pm · 1110 Nostrand Ave
Hello Bar Bk on Nostrand Avenue in Crown Heights skips Monday and runs its happy hour Tuesday through Sunday, covering cocktails, wine and beer at set prices. Draft Beer $2 off · Glass Wine $2 off
Mon, Tue open to 10pm · Wed, Thu open to 7pm · 7 Rivington St
Loreley Restaurant & Biergarten at 7 Rivington Street keeps its Tuesday happy hour going until late evening, well past the usual after-work cutoff. Penne Vodka $9 · Drinks $6
Tue–Fri 3pm–6pm · 3935 Amboy Road
Piccolino Restaurant, an Italian place on Amboy Road in Great Kills, Staten Island, starts its happy hour on Tuesday and runs it through Friday, at the bar only. The food list is the long one here: chicken wings, mozzarella sticks or fried zucchini with fries, and penne vodka, next to lychee martinis, margaritas, beer and wine. Great Kills station is two minutes away.

Plenty of restaurants on our list either close on Monday or start their discounts a day later. Tuesday-to-Friday schedules, like Monarch's and Piccolino's, and Tuesday-to-Sunday ones, like Hello Bar Bk's and Sesamo's in Hell's Kitchen, all switch on every Tuesday. That is why Brooklyn picks up so many extra deals on Tuesdays. If you have one night to explore a neighborhood outside Manhattan, Tuesday through Thursday give you the widest choice.
Menu prices leave out the 8.875 percent sales tax, and a tip of 18 to 20 percent is customary. Taco and bar specials are often served at the bar only, Piccolino's included, so sit there if you want the deal. Our check date is listed on every bar page; look at it before you go, since specials can change without notice.
