About the party
OpenDeck brings its monthly open-decks residency to Moondog HiFi in Bushwick on Thursday, October 15, from 8 PM to 2 AM. The residency runs every third Thursday, and the night is built by its participants: DJs claim slots in advance, vinyl plays inside and CDJs keep the patio going outside.
What to expect
OpenDeck's house rule is phones away and people dancing. Vinyl sets are recorded and streamed on Moondog Radio, and CDJ players receive the audio of their set. The listing also points to Moondog's 2-for-1 happy hour for early arrivals; its exact hours are not confirmed. My take: a relaxed weeknight for DJs who want to play out and for listeners who enjoy hearing many selectors in one evening.
Music and lineup
No headliner is announced. The music comes from the DJs who claim slots: 30 minutes on CDJs or one hour on vinyl, per the listing. Slots are limited and handled through OpenDeck's waitlist, with updates on @theopendeck. No genre is stated, and the slot schedule is not published.
Before you go
Listed hours are 8 PM to 2 AM, and the event is 21+, so bring ID. Re-entry, coat check, accessibility and the nearest subway are not confirmed for this night.
