About the party

The Black Parade returns for its annual Halloween edition at The Brooklyn Monarch, 23 Meadow Street on the Williamsburg side of Brooklyn, on Saturday, October 24. Presented on DICE by Cheeky Entertainment, it is a night devoted to emo and pop punk, opening at 11 PM New York time and wrapping at 3 AM the next morning. The Halloween edition adds a costume contest, decorations and themed giveaways to the usual singalong.

What to expect

Costumes are not required, but there is a Halloween costume contest with cash and prizes, so dressing up gives you a shot at something. The promoter promises heavy Halloween decor and props, a supply of candy, and giveaways from VampireFreaks. The DJs take requests. My take: right for anyone who still knows every word of their 2000s Warped Tour era playlist and wants to scream it in costume.

DJs Jet, Swabby and Katastrophiee are named in the DICE listing description. The promoter describes the music as emo and pop punk, citing Fall Out Boy, Yellowcard, Jimmy Eat World, My Chemical Romance, All Time Low, New Found Glory, Blink 182, AFI, Panic! At The Disco, Good Charlotte, Falling in Reverse, A Day To Remember and Paramore as the kind of bands you will hear on record, not live. Set times are not published.
