Margarita happy hour NYC: where the margarita is on the menu

For a margarita happy hour NYC locals actually use, start with Mad Dog and Beans in the Financial District or Croton Reservoir Tavern by Bryant Park on a weekday, Toast in Morningside Heights or La Loncheria in Bushwick on any day of the week, and Riviera Maya in Astoria on a Tuesday, when its deal runs all day. Rosa's At Park in Mott Haven covers the Bronx, with Monday and Wednesday happy hours that last all day.

Plenty of bars say they do drinks specials. Fewer put a margarita on the happy hour list by name. Of the 685 bars we track, 85 list a margarita as an item in their happy hour offers, and dozens more only mention one somewhere in the fine print. This guide is built from that first group: every pick below has the margarita written into its own happy hour menu.

Manhattan holds most of them, 56 of the 85. Brooklyn has 15, Queens 10, and the Bronx and Staten Island two each. By neighborhood, Midtown leads with nine, Astoria follows with six, and the Financial District, Hell's Kitchen, the Upper West Side and the Upper East Side each have five.

The eight picks span four boroughs and are grouped by area. Cards carry live prices and hours; the text covers the kind of margarita, the days and the train.

Frozen, spicy or classic: what the menus say

Most bars on our list just write margarita, which usually means the house version on the rocks. Ten bars name a frozen margarita on their happy hour. Here that means Mad Dog and Beans, Toast and Riviera Maya, and Papacito's in Greenpoint pours its frozen one two for one.

Eleven bars name a spicy version or one with a hot pepper in it. On this list, La Loncheria has the spicy cucumber margarita and Croton Reservoir Tavern has the mango habanero. Off the list, Barfly in Gramercy does a spicy margarita with a salted rim, and The Bonnie in Astoria saves its spicy margarita for the late window.

Flavors are rarer and more fun. Hellbender does pineapple, Siren in Park Slope and Chateau 49 in Midtown do hibiscus, and Saar Indian Restaurant near Times Square lists tamarind, mango, coconut, peach and strawberry versions next to the regular one.

Picking by neighborhood

Downtown, the Financial District has five, so Mad Dog and Beans has company near Wall Street. In Midtown, the leader with nine, Croton Reservoir Tavern sits near Bryant Park, and the Mad Dog & Beans Mexican Cantina in Midtown lists the same signature and frozen margaritas as the downtown location. Uptown, Toast covers Morningside Heights and Harlem, and Rosa's At Park brings the Bronx in, right by the 4 and 5.

In Brooklyn, Alta Calidad works for Prospect Heights and Clinton Hill, and La Loncheria works for Bushwick. In Queens, Astoria has six margarita bars, more than any neighborhood outside Manhattan, and Hellbender gives Ridgewood its own stop on the M.

Which days work

Weekdays are easy. Most of the 85 bars run their deal Monday through Friday or close to it, and Tuesday through Thursday is the safest bet. Weekends are harder: 37 of the 85 have a happy hour on Saturday or Sunday. On this list, La Loncheria and Toast run every day, and Riviera Maya runs on Sunday.

A few bars build a margarita day into the week. Riviera Maya runs its whole happy hour all day on Tuesday. Rosa's At Park does the same on Monday and Wednesday. Linen Hall near Union Square puts margaritas on its Tuesday special, and La Caverna on the Lower East Side adds margaritas to its Taco Tuesday menu. If you are flexible, pick the day first and the bar second.

Before you order

Read the small print on the card. Mad Dog and Beans serves its deal at the bar only, Toast's is for dine-in guests, and Croton Reservoir Tavern serves its downstairs unless the room is booked for a private event. Alta Calidad, Croton Reservoir Tavern, Hellbender and Rosa's At Park all have a booking link on the card if you want a table.

For a group, look for bigger formats. La Caverna lists a margarita tower on its happy hour, and Deja Vu New York in Astoria lists margarita pitchers. If your crowd wants food with the margaritas, our guide to Taco Tuesday in NYC covers bars where tacos are on the same happy hour.

How we put this together

We searched the happy hour offers of the 685 bars on our list for items named margarita and found 85; 132 bars mention a margarita somewhere in their happy hour text. Counts by borough, neighborhood, day, and frozen or spicy versions come from those 85. Picks were chosen across four boroughs from bars whose offers were read cleanly from their own websites, checked between October 17 and October 23, 2026.
