About the party

Check In to Check Out is a full takeover of the Sela V Hotel in Brooklyn by Robot Heart and Ashram Galactica, across three days and two nights from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25. Nights and daytime sessions each have their own theme, and the artists are deliberately not announced.

What to expect

By night, Robot Heart's theme is late-1970s and early-1980s downtown New York, punk meets disco and hotel glamour, with suggested looks like sharp suits, leather, silk, velvet and lame. By day, Ashram Galactica hosts a daytime dance party where guests are encouraged to come in sleepwear such as silk pajamas, robes and slippers, with classic NYC brunch food served. My take: for people who like immersive, dressed-up weekends and are happy to trust the curators without a lineup.

Music and lineup

No artists are announced, and the organizers say set times will not be published. The organizers give hints instead, for example a Saturday reference to the Marcy Hotel loft and a disco-house pioneer. Expected music, per the FAQ: disco, house, electronic music and live performance moving through different rooms.
