Friday, Oct 30 Gorgeous Gorgeous Halloween

About the party

Gorgeous Gorgeous, a pop dance party for queer, trans and enby people and their friends, brings back its annual Halloween party at The Sultan Room, 234 Starr Street in Bushwick, on Friday, October 30. DJ Louie XIV plays non-stop pop in The Sultan Room while drag performer Hassan hosts karaoke next door in Turk's Inn, and the night builds to a costume contest with cash prizes at 2 AM.

What to expect

A queer pop party with two rooms going at once: dancing in The Sultan Room and drag-hosted karaoke in Turk's Inn. The costume contest at 2 AM is the centerpiece, so costumes clearly fit the night, though a requirement is not stated. The venue describes itself as an inclusive space that removes anyone behaving disrespectfully. My take: the pick for anyone who wants Halloween with pop singalongs and a proper costume competition instead of a club DJ bill.

Music and lineup
