About the party

Afrobeat Nights NYC brings its global Afro sound to The Sultan Room in Bushwick on Friday, October 23, from 11 PM to 4 AM. The promoters bill it as a culture-first night of current Afrobeats and related styles from around the world.

What to expect

A full late-night dance floor in a mostly standing room. Birthday groups and table service are arranged directly with the promoters. My take: for people who want a dedicated Afro night that goes until 4 AM.

Music and lineup

Styles named by the promoters: Afrobeats, Amapiano, Afrohouse, Gqom and Dancehall. No DJs or set times are published.

Before you go

Listed 11 PM to 4 AM. 21+ with an unexpired government ID; photos of IDs are not accepted. The Sultan Room says it has entry ramps and ADA bathrooms, runs a seasonal coat check, and uses a mandatory bag check on late club nights. No smoking inside; there is a smoking section on the rooftop. Flash and professional cameras are not allowed. No outside food or drink. Address: 234 Starr Street, Brooklyn.
