Happy Hour in Brooklyn

Updated · refreshes daily

In short: 193 bars in Brooklyn run a happy hour, 135 with the deal spelled out. The cheapest drink we have on file: $1 at Papacito's. Most start at 4pm. Most are in Williamsburg, Park Slope, Bushwick.

Brooklyn's places on our list are spread over more than a dozen neighborhoods. Williamsburg leads by a wide margin, followed by Park Slope, Bushwick, Prospect Heights and Greenpoint. Cobble Hill, Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy come next, and Crown Heights, Gowanus and Carroll Gardens have a handful apiece. The north Brooklyn trio of Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick accounts for a large share of the borough's list.

Brooklyn happy hour is mostly a weekday thing. Only a minority of the places on our list run anything on Saturday or Sunday, and in Park Slope almost none do. Williamsburg and Bushwick have the most weekend listings, so head north if your free time falls on a Saturday. The G train is worth knowing here, since it links Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Fort Greene and Carroll Gardens without a detour through Manhattan.

Where they cluster

Three areas hold most of the list. North Brooklyn, meaning Williamsburg, Greenpoint and Bushwick, sits along the L and G. The brownstone belt of Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens is served by the F, G, R, B, Q, 2, 3 and C, depending on the block. Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy fill in between. Red Hook, Sunset Park and Bay Ridge have only a few places each, so treat them as single-stop trips.

Before you go

Expect 8.875 percent sales tax on top of any menu price, plus a tip of 18 to 20 percent. Karasu and several others keep their deals to the bar, so sit there if you can. Each listing shows the date we last checked it; happy hours change, so take a quick look before you go.
