Thursday sits with Wednesday at the top of our list for happy hours: most bars across the five boroughs run a deal that day, well above the Friday total. Manhattan accounts for most of them, led by the East Village, Times Square, the Upper West Side and Greenwich Village. Williamsburg has the most of any single neighborhood, Park Slope follows it in Brooklyn, and Astoria leads Queens.

A Thursday happy hour in NYC is mostly the familiar after-work window, but some bars save something extra for the day. Limosneros in Williamsburg runs happy hour all day on Thursday, and a cluster of places, from Bar Baserri to R40, run short midweek schedules that end on Thursday. Expect drafts, wine and well drinks at most bars, with tapas and wings where food is involved. Tip: Thursday-only deals do not carry over to Friday, so if one of them is on your list, go on a Thursday.

By count, Williamsburg leads for Thursday happy hours, followed by the East Village, Times Square and the Upper West Side, then Greenwich Village, Hell's Kitchen and Astoria.
