Happy Hour in Harlem

Updated · refreshes daily

In short: 18 bars in Harlem, Manhattan run a happy hour, 12 with the deal spelled out. The cheapest drink we have on file: $5 at Patrick's on the Hill. Most start at 4pm. Most are near the 1, B, C, 2 trains.

Harlem runs across upper Manhattan from the north end of Central Park into the 150s, and our list spreads across its full width. On the west side, the bars follow the 1 train along Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue: the Baylander a short walk from 125th Street, Lola La Marina on West 133rd Street, Cocteleria Perla Negra and Patrick's on the Hill near City College, and The Honey Well up near 145th Street. Central Harlem has Sylvia's on Malcolm X Boulevard, Ponty Bistro on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard and BLVD Bistro on Frederick Douglass Boulevard.

Restaurants carry most of the deals, so food is a big part of a Harlem happy hour: Caribbean bites at Patrick's, tacos and a giant pretzel at the Baylander, deviled eggs and Cajun shrimp at The Honey Well, starters at BLVD Bistro. BLVD Bistro, Ponty Bistro and The Honey Well run their deals every day, and Lola La Marina pours two-for-one drinks on weekdays. Practical tip: the 2 and 3 at 125th Street and 135th Street are the quickest way to the central Harlem picks, while the 1 covers everything on the west side.
