In short: 24 bars in Chelsea, Manhattan run a happy hour, 17 with the deal spelled out. The cheapest drink we have on file: $6 at Crown Alley. Most start at 4pm. Most are near the L, C, E, A trains.
Chelsea runs along Manhattan's West Side from 14th Street up to 34th Street, between Sixth Avenue and the Hudson River. Our list falls into three pockets. The south end sits on Seventh, Eighth and Ninth Avenues between 14th and 23rd Streets, near the 14th Street stations and the 23rd Street stops on the 1 and the C and E. A second cluster fills the side streets from West 24th to West 31st Street toward Sixth Avenue, where 28th Street on the 1 is the usual stop. The third is out west on Eleventh Avenue and West 26th Street, closest to the 7 at 34th Street-Hudson Yards.
Happy hour in Chelsea leans toward cocktails and restaurant bars rather than dive pours. Margaritas, highballs, house wine and draft beer show up again and again, and many places add food: tacos, olives, croquettes and Burmese disco fries. Most deals are weekday affairs, though Bar Avant Apres Bar, Porchlight, Rangoon and Friedman's on West 31st Street run theirs every day.

El Coco is a Mexican taqueria and bar on Eighth Avenue, three minutes from the 23rd Street C and E stop. Its long window runs Sunday through Thursday from midday into the early evening, with classic, frozen, watermelon and Blue Hawaiian margaritas, a passionfruit martini, small bites and tacos. Friday and Saturday are full price, so plan around them.

La Devozione is an Italian restaurant on West 16th Street whose weekday happy hour leans on snacks: spaghetti aglio e olio pasta chips, marinated olives and fried mac and cheese lollipops. The deal is limited to the cocktail bar and the communal tables, so skip the dining room. The A, C, E and L at 14th Street are five minutes away.

Rangoon on Eighth Avenue has one of the longest windows on our Chelsea list, running from midday into the early evening every day of the week. The listed perk is an order of Burmese disco fries on the house, so ask staff how to claim it. It is three minutes from the 14th Street A, C, E and L station, and OpenTable takes bookings.

CLASSIC HIGHBALL $14 · BEER $15
Mon–Fri 4pm–7pm · 443 West 15th Street
NºBetween is a cocktail bar on West 15th Street with a weekday happy hour built on shochu and Japanese whisky highballs, such as a lychee and Aperol mix and a lemon whisky highball, plus beer and a food item. The window opens in the late afternoon, early enough for a first round after work. The 8th Avenue station on the A, C, E and L is six minutes away.

Tue–Sat 3:30pm–6pm · 25 11th Ave
OfCorsica, on Eleventh Avenue, runs its happy hour Tuesday through Saturday, so it covers a Saturday afternoon as well as the work week. Discounted drinks range from Vesper martinis to daiquiris, served next to a coastal Corsican menu. It is an eleven-minute walk from the 8th Avenue station on the A, C, E and L; book on Resy.
Deal checked Oct 31, 2026 on the bar's own site.
Four stops do most of the work. The 14th Street and 8th Avenue complex on the A, C, E and L covers La Devozione, Rangoon, Salinas, NºBetween and OfCorsica, and District Local is two minutes from the 14th Street station on the 1, 2, 3, F, M and L. The 23rd Street stations on the 1, the C and E, and the F and M are a few minutes from El Coco, The Cooper Still and Jake's Saloon. 28th Street on the 1 serves El Lugar Cantina, Sid Gold's Request Room and Tara Mor. Porchlight and Bar Avant Apres Bar are nearest the 7 at 34th Street-Hudson Yards, The Fleur Room is closer to 28th Street on the R and W, and Friedman's to 34th Street-Herald Square.
Prices on the menu leave out New York's 8.875 percent sales tax, and servers expect 18 to 20 percent on top. In Chelsea the fine print matters: La Devozione keeps its deal to the cocktail bar and communal tables, and Salinas and El Lugar Cantina to the bar. Each bar page shows when we last checked it, so glance at that date before you go.

Bar Avant Apres Bar, Porchlight, Rangoon and Friedman's on West 31st Street list happy hour every day. El Coco runs Sunday through Thursday, and OfCorsica covers Tuesday through Saturday. Most of the rest of our Chelsea list keeps the deal to weekdays.
El Coco discounts tacos and small bites, and La Devozione has pasta chips, olives and mac and cheese lollipops. Rangoon offers Burmese disco fries, and El Lugar Cantina has tacos.

Not quite, but close. Rangoon and El Coco both start their deals at midday, and The Cooper Still and District Local run from midday on weekdays. Friedman's on West 31st Street opens its window in the early afternoon every day.
